There is a reason Craig Spegel has been in the grip business for 30+ years, people: QUALITY. Simple, huh? one of the only sore spots, to me anyway, on the classic Hi-Powers has always been the blocky, cumbersome grips that were installed at the factory. In my opinion, this is how they should have been done--fully checkered, properly contoured and made from high-quality woods by someone who obviously loves what he is doing. Another rarity these days is that if you call the number listed on his website, guess who answers the phone? That's right: Mr. Spegel. I called him Tuesday before last, asked what he had in stock and he cheerfully gave me the low-down. I mailed him a check for $60US and he mailed me the wonderfully made pair of standard grade dark Coco Bolo grips you see pictured here. 8 days turn around time and he sounded genuinely happy to answer my call. Unlike some folks who act like you interrupted their favorite movie. As I said, folks. There is a reason Mr. Spegel is still in business.
